Connecting Canvas LMS
Link your Canvas account so DueFirst can read assignments, grades, and announcements.
Canvas access is read-only. DueFirst uses it to reference your real coursework — deadlines, points, announcements, quizzes, grades, syllabus text — instead of inventing plausible-sounding ones.
Connect with an access token
- In Canvas, open Account → Settings.
- Scroll to Approved Integrations and click + New Access Token.
- Give it a purpose like "DueFirst" and generate it. Copy the token — Canvas shows it once.
- In DueFirst, open Settings → AI abilities → Canvas LMS.
- Paste your school's Canvas URL (e.g. school.instructure.com) and the token, then connect.
Connecting from chat
If you tell DueFirst you want to hook up Canvas, it drops the connection card straight into the conversation so you can paste the token without leaving the chat.
Refresh and disconnect
- Coursework refreshes when you open the app, and whenever you hit sync.
- Disconnect any time in Settings → AI abilities. That removes the stored credential.
A token belongs to your account. Don't paste someone else's, and regenerate yours if you ever share a screen recording of it.
