Who we are
DueFirst is an AI study coach that helps students work through assignments. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Account data: your email address, display name, and (if you sign in with Google) your Google profile name, email, and avatar.
- Your content: chat messages, tasks, quick checks, generated documents, and files you upload.
- Connected coursework: if you connect Canvas LMS, we read assignments, due dates, announcements, quizzes, grades, and syllabus text to give you accurate answers.
- Preferences: theme, annotation density, and other settings, some of which are stored locally in your browser.
How we use it
We use your data to run the product: to answer your questions with relevant context, keep your chats and tasks in sync, and improve reliability. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your coursework for advertising.
Processors we rely on
Your messages are sent to AI model providers to generate responses. Optional features may send a query to web search, Wikipedia, or market-data services. Account data, chats, tasks, and files are stored with our hosting and database provider.
Canvas access
Canvas access is read-only and used only while you are using DueFirst. You can disconnect Canvas at any time in Settings → AI abilities, which removes the stored credential.
Retention and deletion
Your content stays until you delete it. You can delete individual chats, clear your task list, or request full account deletion by emailing us. Temporary chats are never saved.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and access is restricted per user by row-level security rules, so only you can read your own chats, tasks, and files.
Children
DueFirst is intended for students aged 13 and older. If you believe a younger child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
